PAY. has recently completed its first Wero transaction with a test merchant, signaling an essential move towards integrating this service into its payment offerings.

In the official announcement, it is stated that this collaboration will enable PAY. to provide a seamless, efficient, and secure payment service for both businesses and consumers in Europe. Through Wero integration, merchants can accept payments from European customers across various markets using a single connection, thereby simplifying transaction management and enhancing customer experience.

By the end of 2025, PAY. plans to make Wero available in Germany. Subsequently, Belgium will adopt the service in the first half of 2026, with full rollout in the Netherlands starting from the second half of 2026, coinciding with iDEAL’s transition to Wero.

Wero is anticipated to offer an improved version of iDEAL, incorporating features like enhanced user protection and easy integration of new functionalities. Customers will be able to initiate disputes more conveniently, while merchants will gain easier access to payment facilitation across multiple European account holders.
