Since its licensing by the Bank of Lithuania, VIALET, an electronic money institution, has broadened its collaboration with Ondato, a leading identity verification service provider.

The principal objective of their partnership is to bolster client onboarding and compliance procedures. Their joint efforts particularly focus on sectors like online gaming and e-commerce, which are subject to stringent regulatory oversight.

VIALET, offering cross-border payment services, SEPA transfers, mass payouts, and corporate card solutions across the European Union, views robust know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) processes as essential. Integrating Ondato’s verification technology—complete with biometric and AI-driven tools—into its operations addresses these requirements.

Facilitating regulated industries

The partnership expands on an existing client connection. Ondato representatives indicate that the iGaming sector, in particular, demands robust identity verification to ensure compliance while allowing for business expansion. VIALET officials highlight how combining their payment infrastructure with Ondato’s tools helps meet regulatory obligations without compromising user experience.

Under this arrangement, both companies will collaborate on referrals and shared capabilities. Ondato gains exposure to VIALET’s experience in managing payments for higher-risk industries, while VIALET benefits from incorporating a certified KYC provider into its offerings.

VIALET clients can anticipate improvements such as simplified onboarding processes, integrated verification systems, and support across various payment channels. Both companies noted the growing need for effective identity verification within online gaming and e-commerce due to heightened regulatory scrutiny.
