UPS and American Express have extended their collaboration to offer more advantages to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

During the upcoming holiday season, this partnership will concentrate on integrating shipping methods with payment services. The new agreement was announced during the annual UPS Impact Summit and will provide specific discounts and benefits through American Express’ Business Savings Suite for eligible customers.

The initial incentives will encompass air, ground, and international shipping from UPS, with potential increases in savings based on shipment volume. American Express’s small business card members can find these offers on the Amex Offers page, and both companies plan to introduce more benefits throughout the next few months.

Focusing on operational challenges

UPS representatives mentioned that this agreement is part of continuous efforts to provide services pertinent to SMBs, such as flexible return policies and smooth integration with UPS’ logistics network. They emphasized that merging shipping knowledge with payment solutions gives merchants practical resources to handle increased volumes and operational complexities during busy trading periods.

From American Express, officials noted that small businesses often depend on credit cards for managing cash flow, purchasing inventory, and accommodating surges in demand, especially around the holiday season. Aligning financial tools with shipping discounts aims at easing logistical and monetary pressures on merchants during crucial sales times.

The partnership demonstrates a broader trend of collaboration between logistics providers and payment processors to better serve business clients. While the initial phase will focus on shipping cost reductions via American Express’ platform, both parties stated that their cooperation would broaden over time, possibly including further integrated deals combining delivery and financing options for small businesses.
