Thredd, one of the early travel agency service providers, now offers real-time payment control to its customers via new flexible product codes from the Mastercard Wholesale Program (MWP).
Enhanced Payment Control and Visibility
This integration allows Thredd’s clients to better respond to supplier demands based on geographical locations, types of products, and transaction volumes. It also optimizes B2B travel payments through greater visibility, flexibility, and control.
The Mastercard Wholesale Program is tailored for the international travel industry, ensuring secure and predictable cross-border transactions between buyers and suppliers. By integrating MWP, customers gain access to enhanced transparency, liquidity protection, reduced fraud risks, and streamlined refund processes.
In response to industry feedback, the program has been updated to provide real-time payment controls. This enables issuers like Thredd to switch between product codes dynamically, allowing travel companies to adjust their virtual card usage based on supplier or product needs in real time.
Collaboration with Payblr for Fintech Growth in Latin America
In July 2025, Thredd collaborated with Payblr to accelerate the growth of fintech services across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). This partnership combines Thredd’s global processing infrastructure with Payblr’s local regulatory expertise and issuing capabilities.
The joint venture provides a flexible API framework for card issuance, addressing common challenges faced by non-local fintechs entering LAC markets. These include fragmented regulations, lengthy onboarding processes, and cross-border compliance hurdles. Additionally, it offers a pre-configured solution for launching financial services such as gig economy payments, international transfers, and digital wallets.
