The Netherlands has granted Airwallex a Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) licence, enabling the launch of Yield.

This licence, issued by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), will allow Airwallex to introduce Money Market Funds (MMFs) and help European businesses earn returns on idle funds. The approval also opens up new investment opportunities for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

Flexible Investment Solutions

Users of Yield can enjoy a seamless investment experience integrated with Airwallex’s platform, facilitating easy fund management. Businesses can move funds between their cash balance and the Yield account as needed and earn returns on balances in EUR, USD, or GBP without needing separate accounts.

The flexible nature of Yield allows businesses to quickly access their funds when necessary, benefiting from competitive returns while maintaining liquidity.

Global Expansion and Local Commitment

Airwallex’s decision to enter the Netherlands reflects its growth in the region, with a significant 199% year-over-year revenue increase attributed to a tripling of active customer accounts. The company continues to expand its presence through product launches and regulatory compliance advancements.

The launch of Yield in the Netherlands follows successful rollouts in Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore, demonstrating Airwallex’s commitment to offering innovative financial solutions across different markets.

Airwallex aims to provide European businesses with more than double the returns compared to traditional banking methods while maintaining accessibility to cash. Obtaining this licence further illustrates the company’s dedication to working collaboratively with Dutch regulatory authorities and upholding high standards of compliance and responsible financial practices.
