Emirates NBD, a banking group serving the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT) region, has implemented the TruID solution to simplify digital account applications. This innovative method utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to read information from embedded chips in documents, automatically filling out parts of the application.

To complete the process, customers are guided through a simple step within the app where they need to take a selfie. The TruID solution was developed as part of Emirates NBD’s partnership with VisionLabs and Smart Engines, ensuring compatibility for both Apple and Android users. For Apple users, biometric passports can be read using NFC technology, while Android users have access to electronic reading options for both Emirates ID cards and their biometric passports.
