Vivid, a travel management tool for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), has expanded its services to include flight bookings. This new feature, named Vivid Flights, enables companies to arrange air travel directly from their single app.
Integrating Travel and Finance Tools
Vivid Flights is part of the company’s broader initiative to unify travel and finance management within a single platform. It is available through all Vivid Business plans and supports over 300 global airlines, catering not only to regular users but also non-users who are traveling on behalf of their companies. The service leverages Duffel for booking, with a transaction fee of 3% per booking.
This in-app flight booking feature builds upon an earlier addition that offered hotel reservations and coworking space bookings through a partnership with Mindspace. The travel management tool is set to further expand by including train tickets later this year.
Enhancing Administrative Efficiency
Vivid’s travel management service fits into its overall financial platform, which includes functions like expense tracking, payments, and business accounts. Companies can now plan and pay for their travel expenses using the same app that they use to manage other company finances. Travel expenditures are automatically integrated with bookkeeping features, aiming to streamline administrative processes.
The platform also provides incentives such as up to 30% cashback on hotel bookings. This cashback is credited immediately after booking and does not come in the form of reward points or vouchers, offering more direct financial benefits.
Adapting to Changing Business Travel Trends
A recent industry report cited by Vivid indicates that over half of SMBs expect to boost their travel budgets in 2025. About one-quarter anticipate a growth rate exceeding 10% annually, underscoring the ongoing importance of business travel for client engagement and operational expansion.
Vivid representatives state that offering both travel management and financial tools in a single app can help SMBs reduce time spent on administration while also enhancing cost control. Instant cashback on hotels is seen as an additional liquidity benefit.
