Following the implementation of EU’s DMA (Digital Markets Act), MB WAY, a mobile payment application based in Portugal, has introduced NFC (Near Field Communication) payments on iOS devices.

Traditionally, the iPhone’s NFC capabilities were exclusively accessible to Apple Pay; with this update, users of MB WAY can now enjoy contactless transactions that have previously been limited to Android devices.

Customers can now enjoy functionalities such as instant transfers, online shopping, bill splitting, virtual card management, and in-store payments via QR codes or contactless technology. Additionally, QR code payments remain an available option within the app.
