Following the implementation of EU’s DMA (Digital Markets Act), MB WAY, a mobile payment application based in Portugal, has introduced NFC (Near Field Communication) payments on iOS devices.
NFC Payments Now Available on iPhones
This development marks a significant step as MB WAY by SIBS broadens its reach and offers an inclusive user experience across various platforms. Traditionally, the iPhone’s NFC capabilities were exclusively accessible to Apple Pay; with this update, users of MB WAY can now enjoy contactless transactions that have previously been limited to Android devices.
MB WAY’s Commitment to Convenience
The move reflects SIBS’ dedication to creating secure and interoperable payment solutions. By expanding NFC functionalities, MB WAY aims to enhance its user-centric approach and promote a more inclusive digital economy in Europe. As a founding member of EuroPA (European Payments Alliance), SIBS is working towards connecting diverse national payments systems to create a unified payment network.
With this new feature, MB WAY continues to provide comprehensive mobile payment solutions for merchants and PSPs across the Euro Zone. Customers can now enjoy functionalities such as instant transfers, online shopping, bill splitting, virtual card management, and in-store payments via QR codes or contactless technology. Additionally, QR code payments remain an available option within the app.
MB WAY’s expansion into NFC payments on iPhones underscores its commitment to offering versatile payment solutions that cater to a diverse user base. This initiative is part of SIBS’ broader goal of fostering a seamless and unified payments landscape in Europe through collaborative efforts with EuroPA.
