Thales and Curve have joined forces to introduce secure and advanced payment solutions on iOS, catering to financial institutions.
Curve Launches Curve Pay on iOS
In May 2025, Curve introduced Curve Pay for iOS in the European Economic Area (EEA), stepping up as a rival to Apple Pay. The app enables iPhone users to make contactless payments by simply double-clicking their device’s side button.
Curve’s goal with this launch was to assist banks in reducing transaction costs that stem from Apple.
Enhancing User Control Over Finances
The partnership between Thales and Curve aims to revolutionize everyday spending. With the integration of Thales’ D1 platform, Curve customers—whether using Android or iOS devices—can now perform NFC payments directly within the Curve app for in-store contactless transactions.
Thales’ D1 platform operates on a cloud-based system that provides real-time processing and seamless integration with existing systems. This ensures secure and instantaneous payment services.
Built on partnerships with firms like Samsung and PayPal, Curve is dedicated to providing customers with viable alternatives to traditional financial service providers and minimizing fees. The collaboration with Thales underscores this commitment by delivering a robust digital wallet experience.
A Shared Vision for Secure Digital Payments
Thales emphasizes secure, open, and user-centric digital payment experiences in the future. By teaming up with Curve Pay, the two companies are supporting dynamic payment ecosystems while ensuring that users maintain greater control over their financial lives.
The initiative highlights how fintechs and trusted technology providers can collaborate to shape the industry, offering more freedom for mobile NFC payments without compromising security or compliance requirements.
